We continued an email correspondance with Dr. Martens and we began hearing from the NICS organization on instructions necessary to complete paperwork and preparations to attend the Pre-Field Orientation in Memphis, TN...the wheels were turning...

Email...(Tuesday, May 8, 2001)

Greetings Dr. Martens,

We just received our passports today (5-8-01).  We are
both completing the visa applications tonight.  We
will get them in the mail by tomorrow.  Just thought I
 would keep you posted.

 Thanks,

 John and Patricia McClung

His Reply....(Wed. May 9, 2001)

Dear John and Patricia:

So your check list is getting shorter. I have had a busy week. The US State Department offered to partially fund and accreditation visit from the Southern Assn. This was a last minute offer so I had to complete a preliminary report and the other paperwork. The visit took place this week. They approved us for "candidacy status" so now in the next 15 months we have to complete the self-study.

Last night the US Ambassador hosted a reception at his home for the
accreditation team. Now things are setting down for the next few days.
Just the normal board meeting tomorrow, the building committee meeting on
Friday.

You can arrive earlier than August 15th but it is not necessary.

Our prayers are with you.

Frank Martens
